NOTIFICATION ON DEEPAVALI

Dear UNITEN students,

This memo is to inform all students about the decision made by the UNITEN Management Committee with regards to the Deepavali holiday.

The management in its meeting on 3rd October 2011 has deliberated on the request by our Indian students pertaining to the Deepavali holiday. We regret that the management is unable to allocate any additional holidays for the Deepavali celebration due to the time constraint and congestion that we face with the implementation of the three full semesters in the current academic calendar.

However, taking into consideration the need to allow our students to celebrate Deepavali, it was decided that no assessments, tests or quizzes will be conducted during the week beginning 24th October 2011 to 30th October 2011.

In addition, it was also agreed that students who are away from lectures between 24th October to 30th October 2011 shall not be considered as being absent, for purposes of the 80% compulsory attendance requirement for them to sit for their final exams.

We hope all UNITEN students could abide to the decision made by the UNITEN Management Committee as stated above. We take this opportunity to wish our Indian students a Happy Deepavali.

Thank You.

Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs, Alumni and Management)
