SECURITY ALERT

To All Students,

A theft incident happens at Quality Management Centre (QMC) office located at 3 rd Floor, Administration Building (BA) recently. A culprit, (Malay male) early 40's (age) conning as a visitor to ILSAS came in with his accomplice who drives a taxi and parked at the Bus-stop across Puchong Lobby entrance. When the culprit entered the entrance of Lobby Puchong, duty guard was inspecting the Surau nearby. Sequence of events on the day of incident are as follows:-

At 12.45 pm - Culprit and accomplice drove in their taxi into Putrajaya Campus conning as a visitor to ILSAS.

At 12.49 pm - Culprit enter BA Building via Puchong Lobby entrance (recorded by CCTV) and went up to QMC Office at 3 rd Floor. While opening/searching a drawer in one of our Executive office room, he was seen by our staff who scream for immediate assistance. Culprit hastily walked/ran away and was chased by our staff and students.

At 12.58 pm - Culprit seen running out of Puchong Lobby (recorded by CCTV) and was chase by our staff and student up to the waiting taxi (accomplice) and they drove off quickly. Subsequently both our Campus exit gates were alerted unfortunately we miss them by a few seconds. Nevertheless the taxi registration number and car model were recorded and a Police report was lodged at Datuk Abu Bakar Baginda Police Station together with the culprit photo/images as captured by our CCTV.

IMMEDIATE ACTION

1. All taxi entering Campus premises with or without passengers, the driver will have to leave their driving license at the entry point, taxi registration number recorded and a visitor's form issued to be completed and submit back to the Security Post on leaving the Campus.

2. Duty guards at the entry points will conduct spot checks and inspect randomly incoming and outgoing suspicious vehicles such as Motorvan, Lorries carrying ice etc.

3. Appeal to staff/students to communicate/report to security guard/supervisor immediately for any encounter with criminal activity or suspicious character within the Campus premises.

The department would like to extend our appreciation to all staff and student that reacted immediately and even bravely chased the culprit until he was driven by his awaiting accomplice. This show positive security commitment in line with our tag "Security our joint responsibility"
