Changes to the Academic Calendar
At its recent meeting, the University Management Committee (UMC) has decided to implement a new Academic Calendar which streamlines itself with that of Malaysian public universities. This new academic calendar will take effect in the next semester (Semester 1, 2011/12) and the summary of the changes is as follows:
1. The current Academic Calendar for Special Semester (18 April 2011 - 11 June 2011) for students in the Bachelor program is cancelled and you will proceed to commence your studies in the new Semester 1 from 9 May to 27 August 2011. Students planning to undertake Industrial Training in 2011 are advised to contact their respective colleges for clarification on their new industrial training plan.
2. For students in the Foundation program, the current Academic Calendar for Trimester 3 (28 February - 11 June 2011) remains unchanged. However, after completing Trimester 3 you will proceed to commence studies on 12 September 2011.
3. The new Academic Calendar 2011/12 is therefore amended as follows:
a. Foundation Program:
Trimester 1: 9 May - 20 August 2011; Trimester 2: 12 September - 24 December 2011; Trimester 3: 9 January - 21 April 2012.
b. Bachelor Program:
Semester 1: 9 May - 27 August 2011; Semester 2: 12 September - 31 December 2011; Semester 3 (short): 16 January - 10 March 2012.
Students are therefore advised to make the necessary arrangements in adjusting to the new academic calendar and to contact their respective colleges for further enquiries.
